Since 1986, ARUFOG, a French non-profit organization (loi 1901), has been a key player in guided optics and optical fibers, spanning telecommunications, high-speed internet, and diverse applications. We unite companies, research laboratories, and academic institutions, leveraging their collective expertise to spark the creation of innovative optical fiber applications.

The GO2S initiative (Guided Optic & Sensor Systems), launched in 2008 by André Champavere, ARUFOG’s then-president, is dedicated to leveraging optical fiber as a sensor or sensor network. Whether integrated into smart buildings, future cities, intelligent territories, or even mobile systems, fiber optics can extend its utility by tapping into its immense capabilities for sensing.

Our Purpose: To contribute to a clearer long-term strategy for optical fiber utilization, preparing for the future with the active support of our dedicated members and partners. We are committed to nurturing new ideas and concepts, and ensuring the successful industrial transfer of innovations from both public and private research environments.

What We Do (Our Missions): We offer workshops to raise awareness, provide information and consulting, deliver specialized training, conduct technology watch, promote the sector, facilitate knowledge exchange, and represent the optical fiber industry through focused thematic days.
